Thick fog continues to cause travel disruption in the Channel Islands, with Ports of Jersey confirming thousands of travellers were affected by delayed and cancelled flights.
The vast majority of flights to and from Jersey and Guernsey were cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions between Monday 4 November and Wednesday 6 November.
Blue Islands, Aurigny, EasyJet, and British Airways began operating flights in and out of the islands on Wednesday morning, however, they have been facing delays.
Ports of Jersey has said they believe around 3,279 passengers were affected on Monday, with just one flight arriving from Guernsey and one departing to the Isle of Man.
The organisation also projected that 4,780 were affected on Tuesday, with two flights reaching Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and one flight landing from Guernsey.
However, things improved on Wednesday with just 2 departing flights being confirmed as cancelled as of 3:44pm.
The number of cancelled arrivals and departures in JERSEY has seen thousands of travellers affected:
Guernsey Ports have been contacted for comment.
Aurigny has offered its customers a full refund if their flight was affected by the weather conditions on Tuesday or Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the airline said: “We are committed to minimising disruption and doing everything we can to support all our customers during this time.
“Given the persisting nature of the current weather conditions, we’re offering customers full flexibility, including the opportunity to claim a refund so they can avail themselves of all possible transport options”
Events taking place have also been called off in light of the travel disruption.
In Guernsey, St. James cancelled a magic show as performers could not get to the island.
